This scheme is open to all, and if you refer a new driver to us and that driver goes on to complete 20 or more shifts, we will not only give you a £100 thank you gift, but we will also give the new driver £100 as well.  To register yourself click here, or email drivers@silverarrow.co.uk

SIR GEOFF HURST, WEMBLEY, MAN and BRIT EUROPEAN

'There are fans on the pitch, they think its all over. It is now'
Immortal words by Kenneth Wolstenholme as Geoff Hurst scored England's fourth goal thus sealing the historic and only World Cup triumph in 1966 against Germany.
To celebrate the event MAN Trucks held a handover ceremony of new trucks outside Wembley Stadium with their guest of honour being none other than Sir Geoff Hurst. Brit European took centre stage with their new MAN TGX with the number plate EN66 BET the keys of which were presented to Brit European MD, Graham Lackey by Sir Geoff. All told it was a fantastic event and to remember it I have reproduced a few photos taken on the day.

Top centre - Sir Geoff Hurst's signature on the door of the truck, the Three Lions badge and the badge from MAN celebrating 1966 to 2016

TOM CLUTTON'S BIRTHDAY

There seems to be a recurring theme in the accounts office as far as Birthday's are concerned. No sooner had we gotten over Tracy Campbell's Birthday when another of the accounts staff decided it was his
Birthday.

Tom Clutton (pictured below) is 28 today - Tuesday 8th March.

I guess all it remains for me to say is Happy Birthday Tom from all of your friends and colleagues at Brit European!

TRACY CAMPBELL'S BIRTHDAY

Tracy Campbell, Management Account, recently celebrated her 40th birthday and in time honoured tradition her friends and colleagues had a whip round and bought her a charm bracelet with two charms and a weekend spa break for two. Needless to say Tracy was overjoyed. The day after Tracy and hubby Paul jetted off to Rome, Italy for a long weekend and to celebrate her birthday in style. Below are some shots taken of the Birthday Girl in the accounts office on the special day! By the time these shots were taken the yummy Birthday Cake had all gone!

INCHCAPE VOLKSWAGEN STOCKPORT

Brit European's CRT Manager Emma Gardham, recently visited Volkswagen's biggest European dealership, Inchcape Volkswagen Stockport, to make a presentation of one of our Limited Edition Formula model trucks to Paul Colman Smith, Dealer Principal (pictured right below) and Richard Lockett, General Sales Manager.
Inchcape Volkswagen has been instrumental in assisting Brit European in the process of making deliveries during the night and we now have six other Dealerships who also take night time deliveries. This would not have been achieved without the help of Paul and Richard.
Darren Bailey (pictured below), Operations Manager of the Brit European Car Division,
says 'we work very closely with Inchcape Volkswagen and have developed a very good understanding as to what Inchcape expect. They are very receptive to new ideas and we regularly discuss how we can enhance what is already a solid partnership'

CHINA BOUND JCB's THANKS TO BRIT EUROPEAN

Brit European was recently tasked to move 6 x JCB 330 LR Tracked Excavators from Beamhurst, Staffordshire to Southampton Docks and which were destined to be shipped to China. These are big, long and heavy machines!
Phil Murphy, pictured below left, was given the unenviable task of planning the moves. Phil had to organise timings to the second, arrange for Vehicle Escorts for the whole of the journey and to ensure that all legislation was covered. There was no room for error. As one would expect the collections and deliveries went like clockwork! The journey took just over 7 hours to complete and all machines arrived at the designated times in Southampton Docks. Perfect Planning by Phil. One of the drivers, Craig Draper, pictured bottom right, was so relieved that he arrived on time and without any mishap that he took to saying a prayer to someone....not sure if it was to Phil or someone higher up the Supply Chain!! A big thank you to Phil and his drivers for a job very well done.

Sad to say but Mick Brown has decided to call it a day on his career at Brit European on Friday 29 January 2016. During his time at Brit, Mick has been instrumental in designing, modifying and altogether changing completely some of the fleet we use for moving cars, vans and heavy trucks. Mick was treated to a buffet by the Company and was joined by some of his friends in the trade past and present. We all wish Mick a very happy retirement.

STEVE HILL

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Sally Carman, Natasha Carman, Kate Carman and Julia Stockwin (Sally's friend) all took part in the 5K Pretty Muddy Race For Life at Tatton Park in June 2015

They all completed the course in a very credible 1hour which according to Natasha wasn't too bad considering they walked some and ran some. Sally, Julia, Natasha and Kate would like to thank  everyone who supported them and donated raising a creditable £350.00

Please see the pictures below proving that they did it and got very  muddy in the process. (Kate wasn’t too impressed by the mud!)

They had a fab time and it was a fab atmosphere and can’t wait to do it again next year and they might even do the 10K!!
