ALAN SLATTERY

Hey Alan Slattery it has been a while since we last exchanged comments on the Blog.

To start the ball rolling consider this......I have come to believe that there are infinite passageways out of the shadows, infinite vehicles to transport us into the light......we just have to be allowed to find them.

What do you think?

IAN ATKINSON - GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR

Here's something most of you didn't know..... our Group Finance Director, Ian Atkinson, recently completed a triathalon in Majorca. He did very well as far as times are concerned and looks as fit as he did before he went away!

Ian was also a keynote speaker at the recent Finance Directors Conference in Central London where I am led to believe he wowed the audience with a mixture of serious Finance Director things and a sharp out take of witty comments.

Here is Ian at his desk hard at work.....or so he says!

BRIT EUROPEAN CORPORATE VIDEO

BRIT EUROPEAN CELEBRATES 90 YEARS IN LOGISTICS

It’s very rare in the world of business and even more so in the world of transport and logistics for a company to be able to celebrate its 90th birthday. Brit European started life in the 1920’s, has been through a world war, seen entry into the EEC, continued into a new millennium and seen the EEC develop into the EU and as a business continues to develop for the future.
Started by Rod Carman’s grandfather, William (Bill), it is a testament to the family that the company has constantly evolved and changed to cope with the ever changing face of business and has continued to re-invent itself time and time again to survive and grow. It is fantastic to have third and fourth generation family members within the business and also to have so many valued staff with many years of experience to guide the newer ones away from the pitfalls of future decisions. Embracing change is the pre-requisite to staying in business and the blend of new ideas and energy coupled with years of experience is something we must safeguard and nurture.

As a small token as part of us ‘celebrating’ our birthday, we gave a limited edition lapel badge to be worn or saved as a keepsake to all members of staff and valued customers.
